Fleur Fatale

Forum Botanische Kunst, Thuengersheim, Germany
September 29 - December 16, 2012
Artist’s Reception: September 28, 7 PM

The persuading power and sensual qualities of flowers are the topics of this colorful exhibition. It accompanies the publication of the book Blumenmalerinnen by Renate Hücking (Callwey, Munich), the first book published in Germany that introduces contemporary botanical artists in combination with historic masters like Sybilla Merian.

Six female artists from France, Germany and Great Britain present vivid flower portraits in watercolour, acrylics and oil on canvas. ASBA member Verena Redmann shows fiery red blossoms of scarlet runner beans, and ASBA member Fiona Strickland has created a double poppy portrait for this exhibition.
