Small Works Exhibit - San Francisco 2017


Description

This non-juried exhibition is open to all registered attendees of the 2017 ASBA Conference. Each attendee may submit one original botanical artwork.

There is a $35.00 fee for one entry. Each exhibitor will receive a free exhibition catalog.

Artwork must be mailed to Santa Rosa, CA in advance of the conference by September 27, 2017 and picked up during the conference on Saturday, October 14th from 4 to 5:30 pm.

Submissions
Entries are accepted either online or by mail. Artwork images must be digital files only: 300 dpi, image 8” high, .jpg, the image file labeled with artist’s name, last name first and artwork title. Download and print the “ASBA Exhibition Entry Form” PDF on the Entry Form Page.

ONLINE SUBMISSIONS: Print out 2 copies of the blank form and complete the information on each copy of the form. (One to attach to your artwork and one for your records). Then log in to the ASBA website at www.asba-art.org. Click on "Enter an Exhibition" from the "Member Features Dashboard" or go to http://asba-art.org/information/enter-online. Complete and submit the online entry, make your payment online by credit card and send an email with your artwork image file attached to Susan T. Fisher at susan@susantfisher.com. (please note the t in susantfisher.com)

MAIL SUBMISSIONS: Print out 3 copies of the form and complete the information on each copy. Burn the image file to a CD. Write artist’s name and title of artwork in marker on CD: no paper labels. Mail CD, one copy of the entry form and a check payable to ASBA for $35 to: Susan Fisher, 1224 Madison Street, Denver CO 80206, to arrive no later than July 21, 2017. Your CD will not be returned. Keep the remaining two copies of the entry form (one to attach to the back of your artwork, one for your records).
Presentation

Artwork must be framed to 12” x 12” using the frame specified: Dick Blick “Essential Natural Wood Frame kit” complete with plexi-glass (Dick Blick Item # 18862-1904). Artwork must be matted with white or off-white mat and wired for hanging. No saw-tooth or clip hangers. Artwork not meeting these standards will not be displayed. Remember to go to ASBA's website and access Blick website from there.

Artists who live outside of North America who would like to enter small works, please email exhibitions@asba-art.org so framing can be arranged.

Shipping Insurance

SHIPPING: Ship artwork with a copy of the entry form attached to the back of the painting to: Nancy Wheeler Klippert, 1808 Chaparral Rd., Santa Rosa, CA 95404 Must arrive by September 27th, 2017. No Styrofoam peanuts allowed.

INSURANCE: The artist is responsible for insuring artwork. Neither the ASBA nor the San Mateo Marriott will provide insurance, however, all reasonable care will be taken to protect the work.
Sale of Works
Artists may submit their Small Work entry for sale at the Saturday evening ASBA Conference Art Bazaar, October 14, 2017, with the options to donate 30%, 60% or 100% of the sale to ASBA.
Publicity and Catalog
There will be an exhibition catalog produced using the images you provide and each exhibitor will receive a catalog at the conference. Additional catalogs will be available for purchase at the meeting.
Availability
The artist assures that artwork will be available for display. If the artist withdraws the artwork before the exhibition, the artist will not be eligible to show at any ASBA exhibit for the next two years. The artist must pick up the artwork before the close of the conference.
