Hopefully, my love of drawing, painting and printmaking is evident in my work. I am primarily self-taught and through attending many workshops. After thirty years as a bookkeeper/secretary, I decided in 2002 that I would devote myself full-time, professionally to my artwork. Over the years, I’ve developed my own style of botanical art that expresses the grace, energy and imperfections of nature. I’m an award-winning artist in three different mediums—watercolor botanicals, copperplate etchings and mixed media. My years of experience in the business world have been invaluable to me in marketing and recording keeping. Besides a strong knowledge and experience in drawing and painting, business skills are essential to successfully marketing your artwork. I have taught drawing and watercolor classes at Arrowmont School of Arts & Crafts in Gatlinburg, TN, as well as other events and presentations. Being located in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains adjacent to the national park gives me a wonderful opportunity to focus on some of our beautiful wildflowers. When teaching, I try to pass along my love of nature, as well as my love for the drawing/painting mediums. You may view my work at www.AndreaWilsonArtist.com, which also lists the exhibits and awards I have received.
