Catherine M. Watters is a Botanical Art instructor at Filoli Estates in Woodside, CA, where she is an artist for the Filoli Florilegium. Catherine also teaches classes in the San Francisco Bay Area and serves on the Board of Directors of the American Society of Botanical Artists. She shows her paintings in several juried exhibits each year and her illustrations are featured in 5 books: ‘Rare Lilies of California’ (CNPS, ‘96) ‘Pruning’ (Sunset, ‘98) ‘Western Garden Book’ (Sunset, ‘01) ‘Une Histoire des Fleurs’ (Perrin, ‘01) ‘Le langage des Fleurs’ (Perrin, ‘02). Born and raised in Paris, where her love of art and flowers began, Catherine moved to California as a teenager. She received her B.A. from U.C. Davis where she studied French Literature and Art. She leads Garden Tours in the Normandy region of France and lectures regularly on French gardens and Botanical Art.
