Claudia Lane is a Botanical Artist working in Pen & Ink, Colored Pencil, Graphite and Watercolor. She is an instructor in Colored Pencil Drawing at the Chicago Botanic Garden.
Claudia studied studio art in college for two years, but put it aside to pursue other interests. After a long hiatus, she decided to resume her art studies. Claudia was attracted to Botanical Art because it combines the discipline of scientific observation with the creativity of artistic expression. She finds it deeply rewarding to interact with plants and flowers "up close and personal" through art, floral design and floral photography. In 2014 she was awarded the Certificate in Botanical Art by the Chicago Botanic Garden.
