Teacher Directory: Elaine Searle


Elaine is a botanical artist and educator with paintings widely commissioned and exhibited. Her work is held in the collection of The Hunt Institute of Botanical Documentation and in a Florilegium of the plants in HRH The Prince of Wales' garden at Highgrove in Gloucestershire. She holds a Silver Gilt medal (2008) from the RHS. Following a degree and career in graphic design she gained a diploma (distinction) in Botanical Painting from The English Gardening School, London and continues to be mentored by Ann-Marie Evans. Elaine often runs workshops at all levels in the UK and USA, and popular botanical painting holidays in Italy each Spring (see wwww.ilcollaccio.com). She also offers online distance learning at Foundation level (beginners) and Certificate level (intermediate), ideal for those who would like to study botanical drawing and painting in a structured way supported by Skype personal tutorials as they are unable to attend a classroom based program.
