Helen trained as a textile designer and continued her education, training as a teacher at Homerton College, She gained the prestigious Diploma in Botanical Painting and Illustration at the English Gardening School, in the Chelsea Physic Garden,London, under the tutelage of Ann-Marie Evans. After a number of years painting and exhibiting Helen taught botanical design and illustrion, becoming Course Director at the English Gardening School in 2005. Helen is a Fellow of the Linnean Society, a Fellow of the Chelsea Physic Garden Florilegium Society and member of the Hampton Court Palace Florilegium Society. Her work is in the permanent collection of the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation and in many private collections. Her work has also been accepted for inclusion in a Florilegium of the plants in the gardens at Highgrove.
