Sarah shares her passion, skills and natural history knowledge by teaching botanical art and natural history illustration for Dorset Wildlife Trust, and Peter Symonds College AHED in Winchester as well as her own independent courses, some of which will be available online from late January 2017.
The Natures Details Art Courses take place in beautiful countryside settings in the South Downs National Park near to Winchester, Hampshire and near Farehm to the East of the county. The themes of the courses cover a variety of subjects within botanical art & natural history illustration.
She holds the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh Certificate in Botanical Illustration (Distinction) and is also qualified to teach in lifelong learning.
In her workshops there is not only the opportunity to learn new skills and techniques in art, but also the chance to really get to know your subject and enhance your learning through using additional resources.
These include microscopes, a digital microscope, a wide selection of natural history books and ID charts and also access to the Natures Details Youtube Channel, where you will find a variety of tutorial videos.
Her blog ‘The Natural Year’ also includes many helpful and informative articles, often linked to the themes of courses and workshops.
'Just to say, that the lessons with you are really living up to my expectations. After a lifetime of collecting things on walks and then not knowing what to do with them, I have a way of recording what I find!
Thank you for being so kind and patient with a complete beginner!'
‘Perfect introduction for a beginner on drawing and painting botanical subjects - am now hooked !’
