Susan T. Fisher is the former Director of the Art Institute at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum where she created the Nature Illustration Certificate Program. Previously she created and coordinated the Botanical Art and Illustration Program at Denver Botanic Gardens. Susan served on the Board of Directors and is the a past president of the American Society of Botanical Artists. Her illustrations appear in numerous periodicals and books, national exhibits, private collections, and the permanent collection of the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation. Her BA degree includes three years of advanced study in art history at the Universities of Bordeaux, Pau and Toulouse, France.
Teaching venues include the New York Botanical Gardens, LA Arboretum, the Rhode Island School of Design for the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators, The Art Students League of Denver, Foothills Art Center, South Shore Arts Center, The American Society of Botanical Artists and teaches regularly in the botanical programs; Wellesley College Friends of Horticulture in Massachusetts and Filoli Center in Woodside, California.
