Kirsten grew up in the wilds of the Santa Monica Mountains in Southern California and has always loved exploring, drawing, and sharing the details of our natural world, with a special appreciation for the native plants of California. She received her B.A. in Art & Archaeology from Princeton University, and simultaneously earned a Certificate of Proficiency at Princeton in Visual Arts, winning the Francis LeMoyne Page award for her thesis work in painting and printmaking. She completed her graduate studies in Science Illustration at California State University, Monterey Bay. She has exhibited her fine art in New York, Princeton, Los Angeles, Greenwich CT, Pont-Aven, and Paris.
