Originally from Ireland, Aislinn has lived in Salem, Oregon for over 16 years. She graduated with a First class degree in Visual Communications from the National College of Art and Design, Dublin, Ireland, where she worked as a graphic designer before returning to college to study horticulture at the National Botanic Gardens, Glasnevin, Ireland. It was while working as an intern in the Butterfly Garden at the Smithsonian, Washington D.C. that she started illustrating the weekly gardening column, Digging In, for the Washington Post newspaper. She continued to do this work for 10 years.
Nowadays her work is focused mainly on botanical art- in particular the native plants of the Pacific Northwest and she is currently working on a project illustrating 30 of the native plants most commonly found in Silver Falls State Park, Oregon.
Aislinn is also a part-time educator in the 4-6th Grade Environmental Education Program at Oregon Gardens. All her work is inspired and influenced by the beauty of the natural world and a wish to share it with everyone.
