Debbie is a full-time artist who specializes in botanical subjects. She works from her studio in Orlean, VA. Her works have been shown at the U.S. Botanic Gardens (2011&2014), the National Agricultural Library (2007), Museum of the Shenandoah Valley (2015), Monticello's Jefferson Library for the Lucy Meriwether Lewis Marks:Virginia Planter and Doctress exhibit (2011), the Delaware Art Museum (2012), the Corcoran Gallery of Art's Botanical Treasures of Lewis & Clark exhibit (2007) as well as the Corcoran Gallery of Art's 2007 Juried Exhibition. Debbie's works have been in numerous juried shows where she has won several awards. In 2015, she will be exhibiting with Studio 155 at the Association of Independent Architects in Washington, D.C.
In 2009 and 2011, Debbie received ASBA grants for an artistic documentation of endangered and endemic plants from Colombia, S.A. at the El Dorado Reserve in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. Works from this project were shown at the US Botanic Gardens (2011&2014), ASBA Conventions (2010&2013), the Colombia Ambassador's residence in Washington, D.C. (2011), a special summit hosted by the American Bird Conservancy honoring top reserve mangers from South America (2011) and the Delaware Art Museum (2012). She has spoken at several of these venues as well as various art and business groups concerning her project. Additional information about her project can be found in archived ASBA journals.
Debbie's professional memberships include the American Society of Botanical Artists, Studio 155 and the Botanical Art National Society of the Capitol Region. Commissioned work includes the British Ambassador to the US. Contact Debbie for artwork or speaking engagements.
