Rebecca Brown-Thompson received her Bachelor of Science degree in Horticulture from Purdue University, and did graduate work in Horticulture at the University of the Philippines and Cartography at the University of Hawaii. Rebecca has been a member of the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators since 1976, and is a founding member of the ASBA. She is also a member of the BASA, Botanical Society of Australia and the Botanical Art Society of New Zealand.
Throughout her professional career, Rebecca has continued her education in scientific illustrating techniques through various workshops and seminars. In 1993 she sponsored the annual GNSI summer workshops in Sandpoint, Idaho. She now lives part time in Lake Hawea, New Zealand and Bend, Oregon and exhibits work in both both countries as well as teaching Botanical illustration classes. She is also a founding member of the new Botanical Art Society of New Zealand.
Currently finished illustrating a series of plants for the Cottonwood Canyon State Park interpretive garden in Oregon.
