Nurcihan Kahraman
Born in Bulgaria in 1977, the artist graduated from the Painting Teaching Department of Marmara University in 2002. She expanded her artistic education academically by completing her master's degree in Turkish Arts at the Turkic Studies Institute of the same university in 2005.
Since 2018, she has specialized in scientific botanical illustration as a member of Hülya Korkmaz’s project group at the Classical Turkish Arts Foundation.
After completing her teaching career in 2023, she began giving training in scientific botanical illustration. Since 2024, she has been organizing workshops and courses as an instructor at the Nezahat Gökyiğit Botanical Garden. At the same time, she leads various artistic projects with the team of illustrators she founded and contributes to the artistic production processes of different project groups.
Since 2019, she has been actively working as an illustrator for the Illustrated Flora of Türkiye Project, a project she deeply values for its aim of passing Türkiye’s plant heritage on to future generations. In 2025, she joined the project’s Art Editorial Board, continuing to contribute more extensively to the project from both visual and scientific perspectives.
