Description
In this presentation, Julia will share how she created her 'Vintage Amaryllis Bulb’ painting from start to finish. She will discuss and demonstrate reasons for creating a colored background, how to create the papery bulb texture, depicting roots, stages of painting and how to deal with major mistakes!
BIO
Julia has been a botanical artist and tutor for over 25 years. She has many awards for her work, including four RHS gold medals and awards from the ASBA, with her work held in important collections including the Shirley Sherwood Collection, the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation and the RHS Lindley Library, London. She has taught as far afield as Moscow, Transylvania and the US and now regularly teaches online by request. Since the Pandemic, she has been hosting webinars twice a month with other leading artists, as a way of bringing together those passionate about botanical art.
