Trained as a medical illustrator and graphic designer, Kerri enjoyed a previous career as an Exhibits Graphic Designer with the Ontario Science Centre in Toronto, Canada. Her parents were avid gardeners who instilled a passion for all things botanical.
Today, Kerri is an internationally recognized botanical artist. Her work is in the collection of the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation, has been published in Fine Art Connoisseur magazine and juried into the international art exhibitions of ASBA, Art Renewal Centre and Artists for Conservation. She has designed commemorative WWI gold and silver coins for the Royal Canadian Mint.
Kerri gives generously of her time to the development of botanical art and artists in Canada, and in the national capital region where she lives. In 2012, Kerri formed the Ottawa Society of Botanical Artists. As Canada's Chair of the 2018 ASBA Botanical Art Worldwide Exhibition, Kerri led a countrywide team to create Art of the Plant in partnership with the Canadian Museum of Nature. Featuring native plants of Canada the exhibit was viewed by over 21,000 people.
For two decades, Kerri has taught botanical art classes at many venues including the Ottawa School of Art, Nepean Visual Arts Centre, the Canadian Museum of Nature and Stone Manor Studios. In 2025, Kerri was invited to teach a workshop at the ASBA Annual Conference. The Botanical Artist Journal, September 2025 issue, featured Kerri's painting of Queen of the Night Cactus on the cover, and inside she was the featured artist for "Studio Visit". Her article "The Studio is a State of Mind" was developed into a webinar for ASBA members.
Kerri is a graduate of the Ontario College of Art and the University of Toronto's Art as Applied to Medicine program.
