Laura Hamill has been an earnest gardener for several years, inspired by stories about the great gardens of the world by the Royal Horticultural Society. In 1999 she started with simple drawings for her garden journals.
This led to a two year study program modeled on the New York Botanical Garden certificate program and in 2002 she received a Certificate from the Botanical Art Institute of San Diego. Carlsbad Ranunculus © Laura Hamill 2002 was included in the 5th Annual ASBA Juried International Botanical Art Exhibition, 2002, at the New York Horticultural Society.
She now teaches botanical art and “painting wild” with watercolor in Austin, Texas.
