Christina Lovering is a fine artist and teacher living outside of Chicago, Illinois. She has always loved art but really began to find her passion and niche upon completing the certificate program for Botanical Illustration at the Chicago Botanic Garden in 2016.
Christina Lovering works primarily on watercolor paintings, ink and graphite drawings, as well as collage with botanical and natural science subject matter. She is interested in stories of nature and its reaction to man-made changes in the environment, and the interdependence of humans and the natural world. Much of her inspiration is taken from the native plants, insects, and animals of the midwest as well as invasive plants that threaten the ecosystems.
