I started with a class on artichokes under Marilyn Garber’s tutelage at the Minnesota School of Botanical Arts in the spring of 2019. It was my first watercolor class, and I immediately was drawn to the precision of the English dry-brush technique. This art form captures my love of nature and opens my eyes wider to color, light and shape, while allowing my high energy personality to slow down and go quietly into a relationship with the subject, the paper, the pigments and the brushes.

My Great Blue Lobelia and Wood Poppy were accepted into the Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden Florilegium and I participated in a multi-media artistic project, called "Converging Consciousness," involving music and Minnesota native medicinal plants. My east and west coast US shell paintings are part of a project titled "From Sea to Shining Sea."
