Born in a small town in Central Java, Indonesia, and now living in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, Henny has loved drawing since childhood. While living in Paris from 2008 to 2014, she began studying watercolor painting at "L'Atelier du Passage", Paris, and she fell in love and studied botanical art in 2015 after returning to her home country Indonesia which is known to be rich in biodiversity.
She uses this biodiversity as the main source of inspiration in painting which is in turn promoting the beauty of Indonesia's plant-life especially orchids and endangered plants that are always unique to paint.
In 2017, she joined friends who love botanical art at the IDSBS (Indonesian Society of Botanical Artists). Since 2018, she has exhibited her botanical artworks in several cities in Indonesia (Jakarta, Bogor, Yogyakarta, Malang) and outside Indonesia (Moscow, London, Melbourne, Singapore). Some of her works are used as illustrations in Prof. Guido J. Braem's book "The Genus Paphiopedilum" published in 2021.
In March 2022, she was accepted as a Fellow Member of the SBA (Society of Botanical Artists) and in February 2023 she was accepted as member of ASBA (American Society of Botanical Artists). This made her even more enthusiastic about creating and displaying Indonesia's biodiversity.
