Ardisia escalioides

Marlberry, Ardisia escallonioides, is a particularly appealing native Florida shrub, with white flowers, glossy evergreen foliage and multicolored berries. Fragrant, white flower clusters appear from spring into fall, followed by showy berries, attractive to songbirds as well as people. Its natural habitat is the pinelands and hammocks of central Florida, through the Keys and into Mexico, often among cabbage palms, but it’s also at home in a residential setting.
