25TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION AT CVABA
On Feb. 11, 2019, Central Virginia Botanical Artists (CVABA) hosted the Plants of the James River Project (PJRP) for a presentation on their upcoming exhibit and events. The PJRP, all CVABA and ASBA members, were awarded the Esther M. Plotnick Artist's Grant in 2018 (see The Botanical Artist article, December 2018 for more details). CVABA members, and about 25 members of the public, attended to learn about early Richmond, VA environmentalist, Newton Ancarrow, and his contribution to cleaning the James River, while taking approximately 35,000 photos of wildflowers. The PJRP is hosting public educational activities and two juried botanical art exhibitions at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden and Virginina Commonwealth University Libraries, Oct. 1 -Dec 22, 2019. This was in celebration of ASBA's 25th anniversity... with cake!
