Botanical Art OnDemand ™ for Botanical Art Instructors
ACCEPTING CONTENT SUBMISSIONS NOW
Make an impact! Earn additional income!
Submit video content which teaches one or more of the skills required for students to attain competency in the practice of botanical art. You will benefit from having a technology infrastructure already in place on which your video content will be available for rent by botanical art students around the world and you will receive a payment from ASBA for each rental! With access to ASBA’s worldwide audience and ASBA’s reputation for quality, Botanical Art OnDemand™ offers you the potential for a perpetual stream of income.
Students will follow an ASBA curriculum designed by the ASBA Education Committee that leads students through a process of gaining skills tied directly to video content you create.
Botanical Art OnDemand™ is a Win-Win-Win-Win for instructors, students, institutions and ASBA. While earning income from your online content, you will gain exposure and attract students to your in-person workshops. ASBA leaves the personal coaching up to you.
This is not a certification program. We leave that up to our Institutional members. ASBA does what we do best, bringing together a community of botanical artists and instructors and creating and managing the technology so you don’t have to! This opportunity has been created with you in mind.
How to participate:

Let’s get started!
Before creating and submitting your instructional video content, please familiarize yourself with the following materials:
• Botanical Art OnDemand™ Curricula
• Botanical Art OnDemand™ Skills List
• Botanical Art OnDemand™ Video Content Standards
Select the skills you wish to teach from the Botanical Art OnDemand™ Skills List.
Create your instructional video. Videos:
• must open with the Botanical Art OnDemand™ Title Slide customized with an image representing your video. A template is available HERE.
• should be 50-60 minutes in length and narrated in English.
• should specifically address one or more of the skills on the Botanical Art OnDemand™ Skills List. If multiple skills are covered in a single video, they should be consecutive on the Skills List.
Students will follow the Botanical Art OnDemand™ Curriculum to determine the order in which they work to master each skill in the process of attaining competence in botanical art. Students will be able to search the Botanical Art OnDemand™ online archive of videos by typing the full name of the skill from the Botanical Art OnDemand™ Skills List to locate instructional content at their stage of the curriculum.
A closing slide template is also available to customize with your name and social media information. It should be the last thing to appear in your video and play for at least 1 minute. Templates for the Title Slide and Closing Slide are available HERE.
Multiple instructors may submit content for the same skill(s) giving students a choice of videos from which to select on a given topic.
Once you have created your video content, please fill out the Botanical Art OnDemand™ Content Submission Form. You will select the skills covered in your video from a list on the form. Also, on the form you are asked to provide the Botanical Art OnDemand™ Title Slide customized with an image related to your video content to be used as the icon for your video on the Botanical Art OnDemand™ website. Upload it on your Content Submission Form.
Please complete a separate form for each video you submit. You may submit as many different videos on different skills as you wish. A small non-refundable fee will be charged for each submission. This fee covers a portion of the expenses incurred by ASBA to review your content and if accepted, to encode, upload, and pay uploading and storage fees to our video service provider.
Name your file using this naming convention:
[Your Last Name]-[Video Title].mp4
Send your video via WeTransfer or other large file sending service to
OnDemand@asba-art.org
Submissions will be reviewed against the Botanical Art OnDemand™ Video Standards and if all qualifications are satisfactorily met, your content will be added to an archive of educational materials. You will receive notification by email about whether your submission is accepted. If your content is rejected, you will be contacted with the reason(s) for rejection. You may correct the deficiencies and resubmit the content. An additional submission fee will be charged.
Videos accepted in the archive may be rented and viewed online by both ASBA members and non-members (public). Video rentals are per person and may not be shared. Each 50–60-minute botanical art instruction video will rent for $25 and be accessible by the renter for 2 weeks. ASBA reserves the right to change the rental fee or rental period or discontinue the program at any time. Content providers will be notified of any changes. The content creator retains the copyright and may withdraw their content from the website upon 4 weeks’ notice to ASBA by sending an email request to OnDemand@asba-art.org. Content providers may not offer the same or substantially the same video content for sale or rental online in competition with ASBA. They may use it in their own in-person instruction.
Each time this content is rented, ASBA will pay the instructor/content provider 50% of net rental fees (after per-rental fees due to the video service provider, including credit card processing fees). Payments will be made to the content provider on a quarterly basis within one month of the close of each quarter. ASBA reserves the right to change the payment schedule if needed in which case content providers will be notified with the option to remove their content as stated above if they do not agree to the new terms.
Upon acceptance of your first video, you will be asked to complete an Instructor information form providing information about how to receive your % of rental fees (address for check, email for PayPal, etc.) Instructor/content providers residing in the U.S. will also be required to provide a completed W9 form (available from the IRS website at https://www.irs.gov/forms-pubs/about-form-w-9). You will not be paid without ASBA receiving a W9 form from you. It can be attached to your Instructor Form, emailed to OnDemand@asba-art.org or mailed to ASBA at NYBG, 200 Southern Blvd, Bronx, NY, 10458.
Should the information on this page be different than that on the content submission or instructor information forms, the terms on the forms with take precedence.
Your participation helps further ASBA’s mission to provide a thriving interactive community dedicated to perpetuating the tradition and contemporary practice of botanical art. You are embodying one of ASBA’s Core Values to Learn and Teach: to improve our skills as artists, support one another at every level, learn from the past, and teach our methods to the artists of the present and the future.
Thank you!
