Margaret Trent draws her inspiration from nature. The daughter of an archeological illustrator, she was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, where she graduated with a degree in Biological Sciences. She works primarily with colored pencils on drafting film, and is a member the Colored Pencil Society in both America and the United Kingdom.
Margaret is also a member of several organizations focused on botanical and natural science illustration, including the American Society of Botanical Artists, and the Pacific Northwest Botanical Artists. She regularly exhibits at local venues, and her work has been juried into shows both nationally and internationally. Her work Rhododendron cinnabarinum is included in the permanent Florilegium collection at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, Scotland.
