Exhibition in Review
ASBA’s 15th Annual International finished its two month run in NY, with several successful events and classes held in conjunction with the exhibition. In order to reach an expanding audience, ASBA and The Hort organized three separate walkthroughs of the exhibition – one for ASBA and Hort members and artists, one for Interior Designers, and one for the Hort’s Circle of Friends. At the Circle of Friends event, several artists gave short presentations about their work. A highlight was Monika deVries Gohlke’s talk and demonstration of her aquatint/etching/hand-coloring process.
The exhibition catalog experienced a make-over, and a total of 15 artworks were sold ranging in price from $475 to $6500. In spite of some serious weather events, three workshops were held during the course of the exhibition, taught by Asuka Hishiki, Wendy Hollender, and Carol Woodin. An estimated audience of 1,750 viewed the exhibition during its run. We’re already planning for the 16th Annual International; the final Call for Entries is in this issue and deadline for submissions is March 29.
