I learned botanical illustration at the age of 16 and helped a botanist complete a large book. "Trees, Shrubs and Woody Vines of the Southwest", by Dr.Robert Vines. Not kidding about his name. Anyway, the book was published by the University of Texas Press back in the early 1970s.
Then, I worked for 36 years as a technician for architects and engineers. I could not find any lucrative job in the art field, however I never stopped drawing.
Now I am 73 years young and I am completing my degree in Botanical Illustration. I am thrilled to be associated with so many botanical artists through ASBA.
